Sausages and Grill Fries

img_0437… and beer, oh my!!!  Thursday night, and time for some mid-week grilling…

On the grill:

  • Chicken-apple Sausages with Onions & Peppers
  • Grill Fries
  • Green Beans in Foil

Today was way too nice to not roll out the Weber OTG again and grill up some vittles.  The chicken-apple sausages came out of the freezer, got thrown on the grill, and were combined on a french roll with some grilled onions and peppers.  The grill fries were a variation on trashbag taters; they got cut up into shapes more resembling french fries rather than steak fries and treated to a slightly different set of seasoning.  They turned out real tasty, and I will post the recipe either later tonight or tomorrow.  I will say that this is only possible due to that basket you see on the grill that looks like an oversized fry basket with a lid.  It works on pretty much the same principle, and it keeps most of the potatoes from sacrificing themselves to a fiery demise due to the small grid pattern and lack of large gaps where the lid comes together.

Once again, it was a “cram everything that is being cooked on the grill” night.   Dinner was topped off with green beans in foil, always a favorite, especially when the cook is feeling lazy (like tonight).  No complaints were heard at the table, and the food all disappeared pretty quickly…
