Curry a Favor

What do you do when the wife says “what are you barbecuing tonight, and how about curry?”  If you are smart, you fire up the Performer and make some curry, even though you just did this about a week or so ago.  No matter; substitute sweet potatoes for gold potatoes and use a different (green instead of yellow) curry sauce, and it might as well be a different meal.

And it turns out it did taste different.  It was good, but I think everyone liked the yellow curry better.  The sweet potatoes were good, but they overwhelmed the carrots and seemed to cut the heat from the curry.  I did remember to add chopped fresh cilantro to the veggies when they were cooking this time; that did add a nice flavor that would have gone real well with the previous batch as well.  All in all, a satisfying meal with no complaints, but clearly not the best in recent memory.

Typical spring day today.  Sunny early, with hardly a cloud in sight, followed by dark clouds in the afternoon and sprinkles.  At least it wasn’t like yesterday when the heavens opened, the rain poured down, and the wind blew down more branches out of the trees.  That wasn’t what kept me from cooking yesterday, though.  It was all the leftovers in the refrigerator that needed to be eaten…
