I wanted something a bit more portable; this seemed to fit the bill. The other consideration was how it handles the wind; we get a lot of that at the lake, and it is a bigger challenge than the rain. Oh yeah, and it was a lot cheaper (and lighter) than going the BGE route, although I still haven't ruled out one of those in the future either.
