The meal for tonight was decided by a quick poll of the Twitter crowd. I gave them a choice of making us eat lemon chicken or chicken satay with peanut sauce, and satay won by a landslide. As in no one voted for the lemon chicken.
We had to have sides, so brown rice went on the stove to boil, and veggies were chopped for curry. The veggies received a coating of EVOO, curry powder, granulated garlic, and red chili powder, and on Bubba Ho-Keg they went. After about 40 minutes, they were joined by chicken breasts cut into strips and dusted with curry powder, salt, and red chili powder.

The peanut sauce was homemade and something I whipped up by once again not following a recipe I found online. Maybe they should be called suggestions rather than recipes. At any rate, I heated some minced garlic, onion flakes, red chili powder, cayenne pepper, and some red pepper flakes in some EVOO. Once the aroma got going, I added some creamy peanut butter, water, and brown sugar and stirred it thoroughly over medium heat for about 5 minutes. When it passed the family taste test (from the official community spoon), it was time to eat. Curry sauce was mixed in with the veggies, and it all landed together on a plate.

All that work made me hungry, so I did a horrible job of fixing a pretty plate for all of you to see. Get over it. This was a darn good meal, even if it was a bit on the brown and yellow side.

It looks good, but where are the sticks?
I got permission to leave them off from Landarc. I’m saving them for the next batch of FauxQue…

LMAO, story of my life! Great looking eats.
If you can’t follow a recipe, I figured the pointed sticks would cause problems.
I never seem to remember that they are supposed to be stuck in the meat, not in my hand.
