Irish ribeyes are smiling

Today was St. Paddy’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a traditional dinner of ribeye steaks, trashbag potatoes, and something Pigdog whipped up that was green and tasted like Italian food. We aren’t very Irish, and since I’d rather turn corned beef into smoked pastrami, this was the our new tradition. They have to start somewhere…

The green stuff I referred to started out life as a bag of cabbage slaw fixings without any dressing. Once Pigdog was finished with it it had plenty of extra onions, some tomatoes, about half the herbs and spices from the cabinet, some bottled dressing of some sort, and a couple of avocados. Oh yeah, and some parmesan cheese that was added after I commented it tasted more like spaghetti than salad. You can see the end result on the plate.

Surprisingly enough, it was pretty good, and although I knew it had cabbage in it, the taste was completely missing. And it was green, so at least something sort of went with the occasion.
