IBEA you wrote that that the employees stole the recipe from Everett and Jones in Berkley but did you know the founder of Everett and Jones (Dorothy Everett) worked part-time for what was to become Flint's BBQ before she opened her own place? So these styles and recipes co-mingled.
Flints was the BBQ I ever had and the Best in the Bay Area back in the day. Everett and Jones is good too just not as good as Flint's was (in my opinion). But I know why Everett and Jones is good and that is because of Flint's. So what I am trying to say is Oakland Style, Everett and Jones all come from Flint's and I never thought Mrs. Everett stole her recipes from Mr. Flintroy (Flint's) but he surely inspired her and you can taste similarities which is a Great thing!

If the recipes were purchased legally, then they weren't stolen. If they were purchased illegally (stolen) from employees that didn't have the right to sell them, then please provide valid references for comments such as this.

You wrote "Self Proclaimed “Oakland Style BBQ”, what the heck is Oakland style BBQ? Apparently, the owners learned their craft at the famous Flint’s BBQ of Oakland, ahh, now I see the connection."
The truth of the matter is the owner of this place tells a tall tale, the recipes for sauce and rub were bought (stolen) from employees at Everett and Jones BBQ in Berkley CA.

In Somerville (near Boston) we have a place called RedBones and the beef ribs are just stupid good. My first attempt was not even close, and my second was at least in shouting distance. The pulled pork is ridiculous good as well. Thats about the only place I know of up here.

One of these days I might even get around to doing a local one. Assuming I can find a local place worth reviewing; I'm pretty sure most of the places I've been to local wouldn't appreciate what I would have to say about them...
