Now that I have your attention, gaze upon not one, but two spatchcocked chickens with a mystery foil pouch on the side.

Needless to say, the family has returned from the annual visit with Auntie and spending of money in theme parks and museums. And even though it was a Monday, they weren’t about to let me off the hook after being gone for three weeks of watching me experiment on the blog. The mystery foil pouch was some mushrooms, pearl onions, and water chestnuts leftover from the Dim Sum MOINK Disaster. Add a tossed salad and some grilled peaches that were camera shy, and dinner was served.

It must have been good; although there is a chicken leftover (as planned) the rest of the food disappeared quickly without a lot of conversation.
Not bad for a Monday.

Beautiful looking birds. My favorite day 2 chicken treat is curried chicken salad.
That sounds tasty. Got a recipe you can point me at?
I’ve heard rumors that you actually can cook. Dude, there’s no doubt now. Great job!
Thanks. I can occasionally put out something edible…
I have yet to do a chicken this way, soon I think! Nice cook.
I prefer this method over beer can any day. Doesn’t waste good (or even bad) beer and the chicken still turns out moist and flavorful.
It might have been fun being a bachelor for a bit but I know you are thrilled to have them back home.
Great looking spread to have for them. And I’m with you, spatchcock over beer butt any day of the week!
Yeah, it was getting way too quiet around here with just me and the dog. And beer is for drinking, not steaming chicken innards.
Keep it on the down low but next weekend I am a freebird (27th-30th) and I can promise no blogging or comments!
I promise I won’t tell a soul. Oh, wait…
