Bubba Ho-Keg has a new home at the lake. And don’t be fooled by that picture; shortly after it was taken it started to snow. Hard. Fortunately it didn’t affect our dinner of chicken wings, which is one of Pigdog’s favorite meals.
Bubba Ho-Keg was set up for indirect cooking, loaded up with some cheesy taters in the Dutch oven, and the rest of the grill was covered with chicken wings. The wings were dusted with red chili powder and cayenne pepper, then put on the grill for about 45 minutes at 325°F. At that point they were removed and dunked in the Asian NoBob sauce. They went back on the grill for another 15 minutes, and then it was time to eat.
The cheesy taters were especially tasty tonight.
I changed the recipe slightly and used a generic BBQ seasoning mix from Cash & Carry, some salt and pepper, and red onions instead of the sweet white onions. This was quite possibly the best batch of cheesy taters yet.
Not a bad meal in spite of getting snowed on…
