It must be Easter

The way I can tell it’s Easter is there is a monster-sized ham on the WSM, smoker beans underneath, and green bean casserole cooking in the house. There’s something to be said for tradition, and today underscored it.

About the only thing different today was a full-size ham instead of the half ham we usually cook. This one was spiral sliced at the store and covered with a mustard-brown sugar-molasses-maple sugar-clove mixture that was so tasty the last time we had a ham.

It’s a crime to not cook smoker beans with a ham on the top grate of the WSM. Today I am not a criminal. Along with that, the wife whipped up a batch of her own beans in the form of a green bean casserole. Cooked in a traditional oven inside the house.

All this made for a major feast and a serious plate full of food.

At this point I will be wishing all of you a happy Easter. There is a couch in the other room that is calling my name…
