Pulling Pigdog’s Meat

If it is July, it must be time to feed Pigdog’s clan (my second family). And since we are doing the burgers and dogs thing from the beach tomorrow, pulled meat had to be prepared today. After all, it’s a tradition. Something about pork on the left, chicken on the right, or some such nonsense.

The chicken went on Bubba Ho-Keg for about 2 hours at 275°F after getting a nice dusting of my basic rib rub. It’s not just for ribs…

Pork butts were the other main attraction; they cooked all day on the old WSM using a slight variation on the usual recipe. Brown sugar was substituted for Turbinado (raw) sugar, not because I wanted to try something different, but because I was out and there was no way I was going to go to the only grocery store in town today. As you can see, they turned out ok…

I don’t have pictures of the pulled pork as I neglected to take my camera with us to Pigdog’s house. But I have it on good authority that pictures were taken of me pulling Pigdog’s meat. I’m sure they will show up on the Internet at some point.

Somehow I have the feeling that my spam comments are going to get worse for awhile…
