Pigdog consented to eat leftover smoke beans tonight. Of course, it helped that there were blackened NY strip steaks and mystery foil packages to go with them.
The steaks were great once the fat and gristle was trimmed off of them after cooking. I was a bit concerned about them based on the fat color and how tough it was, but the meat was tender, juicy, and neither of us got sick from eating them. No worries, right?
Mystery foil package #1 contained more beans, of the string variety mixed with onions, fresh basil, cilantro, a dab of butter, and some salt and pepper. Mystery foil package #2 had mushrooms and onions with cajun seasoning and another dab of butter.
Pigdog doesn’t eat mushrooms, so those were for me. I made up for it by letting him finish off the extra smoke beans. I didn’t hear any complaints, so I’m pretty sure he’ll be back for ribs tomorrow.
Of course, he’d come back for those even if he didn’t like tonight’s meal…
