Well, at least according to the folks at Cholula it is, and who am I to argue since they were nice enough to send a couple of bottles of their Chili Garlic sauce for me to test drive?
They have a bunch of recipes on their site, and I decided to more of less follow the one for Chili Garlic Aioli to dip some grill fries in. I also had some pre-seasoned “Pepper Steak” from the back-of-the-truck-meat experience; I had no idea what the actual spices were but figured I’d grill it on Bubba Ho-Keg then slice it and combine it with an onion and pepper mix cooked in foil with a couple of tablespoons of butter and the Cholula Chili Garlic sauce.
The results turned out real nice. There is a definite flavor of garlic imparted by the sauce, and the combination with the butter, veggies, and unknown meat spices made for a fajita-like result that went very well with the grill fries and Aioli. I’m looking forward to using up the rest of the sauce on some more new creations, or even trying out some more of their recipes in the near future.
