Tonight was pizza night. It was supposed to be pizza evening, but the aptly-named Ono charcoal I used tonight refused to get up to pizza temperatures without a great deal of assistance. And a MAPP torch.
In spite of the challenges, we eventually got our pizza. About an hour after originally scheduled. There were two of them; you get to see a picture of the first one, which varied from the second only by placement of peppers and sun-dried tomatoes as a topping.

Tonight’s offering consisted of overly-wet TJ’s herb-garlic dough (I think it was in the refrigerator too long) with homemade sauce, mozzarella cheese, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, bell peppers, fresh basil, green onions, and the aforementioned sun-dried tomatoes that I should have cut up into smaller pizzas pieces.
In spite of all the complaints, the pizzas actually turned out pretty well. And they disappeared pretty fast. Must have been from keeping people waiting for so long.
As for that charcoal, next time I have a chance to buy it I’m just going to say “Oh, no”…

I’ll take two….
Just how far south do ya deliver?
No way I’d be able to do the 30 minute delivery to your neck of the woods. But next time I’m in the area I might be willing to stop and cook a couple…
That bad, huh? Is that an extruded charcoal?
No, it was lump. Some of the pieces were enormous and had to be broken up into much smaller ones to be useful in the BS Keg. I went to use the rest of it up yesterday and discovered that what was left in the bottom of the bag were all very small pieces and charcoal dust. Looks like I’ll be using the rest of it to start the next brush burn pile…
