The little Red-Haired Boy turned 10 today. He isn’t so little anymore, and the size of his appetite might have something to do with it. For his birthday meal, he asked for teriyaki strips and salmon. I was able to get permission to cook the teriyaki strips using the bulgogi technique as long as I promised to use the traditional marinade mix. And since I had some pineapple on hand that needed to be used, it went on the skewers as well. Needless to say, this crowded the BS Keg just a bit…
Of course, he wasn’t just asking for surf and turf-iyaki. After some discussion, he settled on potato salad. And carrots, which I convinced him to eat in the form of carrot salad.
His plate also contained a crab cake, courtesy of Mom and a frying pan on the stove. Turns out there are certain goodies that get purchased at the fish store every time Auntie shows up for a visit.
I’m told there is cake and ice cream as well, but no one seems to be in any kind of hurry for it at the moment. Personally, I’m going to go find an empty couch somewhere and take a nap.
