Nor was it pork yakisoba, which is what it was going to be when I thought I was going to have to share four pork chops between five people. But Oldest Daughter decided not to join us for dinner as originally planned, so we had chops, taters, and veggies for dinner.
The pork chops were marinated in white wine, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme, while the taters were given a treatment of EVOO, granulated garlic, and a random spice mix chosen from the rub section of the cabinet. Everything was direct grilled, and it only took about 15 minutes to turn those 2-inch chops into something that looked like this.
The best part of this meal is that my sense of smell (and by association, my ability to taste food) has mostly returned and I was able to enjoy tonight’s meal.
Too bad the rest of you are left with just the pictures. Especially Oldest Daughter. Maybe next time she will make the drive out after all…
