BBQ Quotes (sort of…)

by zydecopaws on March 22, 2009

I was perusing Google today in search of good BBQ quotes and came across a site that, on first glance, seemed to have a number of good quotes from famous people.  Further examination led to some degree of skepticism, as I don’t recall seeing anything about Jesus saying “Give a man a BBQ, feed him for a day; Teach a man to BBQ and feed him for the summer” in any of the bible study I performed as a child.

Here are some more samplings of quotes found on this page:

“It is better to have burnt and lost, then never to have barbecued at all” – William Shakespeare

“BBQ’ing is one percent inspiration, and ninety-nine percent perspiration” – Thomas Edison

“Always wear something sensible when cooking at the barbecue” – Lady Godiva (I can believe this one…)

“Spare rib anyone?” – Adam

“Strong the sauce in this one truly is” – Yoda

“The larger the mass of food, the more energy it will take to cook. This energy input should be distributed over a larger time period or the surface of the food will receive a disproportionate amount of that energy” – Albert Einstein

UPDATE: Since publishing this post a separate page has been set aside with a larger collection of BBQ quotes.  Feel free to check it out.
