Not Odd, but Cod

img_0378Yep, it’s another Friday in Lent, the Catholics are still in the house, but at least I didn’t repeat the Mahi-mahi again.

On the grill:

The cod was a nice change from the mahi-mahi.  Don’t get me wrong, the mahi-mahi is really tasty; I just happen to like some variety in my meals.  The cod was lightly seasoned with a combination of Jamaican Jerk seasoning, dill, basil, and fresh ground black pepper.  It was then indirectly grilled on the Weber OTG for about 20 minutes.  The final result was very tasty, even if some members of the family felt compelled to smother it in tartar sauce.

Brandied pears again for dessert.  We had them over ice cream tonight, and it made for a nice finish to the rest of the meal.  And once again it didn’t occur to me to take a picture of them in a nice bowl rather than the blackened pot they get cooked in…

Vital Statistics:

  • BBQ Start time: 17:40
  • Meal time: 18:30
  • Temperature:     38°F
  • Dew Point:     30°F
  • Humidity:    72%
  • Wind:    Calm
  • Daily Precip.:    0.20in

I was surprised when I saw the total for the daily precipitation.  It must have rained harder this morning than I thought, as the sun was peeking out when it came time to cook.  It did turn pretty cold for spring, but certainly not cold enough to stop a Friday night BBQ…
