Sweet Potato Grill Fries

Easy to make, and a nice change of pace from regular potatoes (or even Trashbag Potatoes), these make a nice side dish with just about any meat.

  • 3-4 sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbs. Olive oil
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch strips (like french fries).  Drop into a bowl or plastic bag and cover with the olive oil, making sure that the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.  Sprinkle with fresh ground pepper and the salt.  Place in a grill basket and cook indirect (not over coals) on a 350°F-375°F grill for about 30 minutes.  These don’t crisp up, and you will want to take them off the grill when they are still a bit firm.  Serve hot, no toppings required…
